A multi-store retailer with a central warehouse and smaller regional hubs partnered with Blyze Labs to overhaul their inventory visibility. Previously reliant on crashing spreadsheets and manual ERP exports, the supply chain team lacked the ability to track performance or forecast needs accurately. We built a real-time, scalable platform that centralized inventory data and surfaced critical KPIs—unlocking proactive decision-making, optimized assortments, and reduced stockouts.

Challenge

The client operated one central warehouse, several smaller hubs, and dozens of retail stores—but had no unified visibility into inventory performance. Data was scattered across ERP systems and endless Google Sheets, making it nearly impossible to:

  • Understand what was in stock where, and why

  • Prevent stock-outs or overstocks

  • Analyze performance of assortments or purchase plans

  • Refresh or trust inventory data in a timely way

Our Approach

Blyze Labs developed a consolidated inventory tracking and forecasting platform by combining high-volume, multi-source data with advanced KPIs. Our solution included:

  1. High-Frequency Data Ingestion:
    Hourly updates of inventory by location, including warehouses and stores, along with sales, POs, inventory in transit, forecasts, and more.

  2. Enriched Data Models:
    Merged structured ERP data with manual inputs like product categories, store clustering, and location-level assortments to support richer analysis.

  3. Inventory Health KPIs:
    Built a dashboard surfacing key metrics by product and store:

    • Inventory On Hand

    • In Stock %

    • Sold Out %

    • Days On Hand

    • Inventory Turnover

    • Quantity In Transit

    • Forecasted In Stock % (based on current stock, POs, and sales forecasts)

  4. Operational Rollout:
    Trained supply chain and operations teams to use the platform for daily decisions and long-term planning.

Results

The client now has full visibility into inventory health, enabling faster, more confident supply chain decisions:

  • 📈 All supply teams using real-time dashboards daily

  • 🔍 Identified low-turnover products to reallocate or mark down

  • 🚫 Reduced stockouts with proactive planning from forecasted In Stock %

  • 🧭 Improved store assortments by aligning inventory with clustering logic
